How to Choose a TV Show When You Don’t Know What to Watch

Start with the kind of commitment you want

Before opening a streaming app, decide whether you want a short limited series, an easy episodic watch, or a longer story you can stay with for weeks.

Use mood before genre

Genre is useful, but mood is often more practical. A tense crime drama and a relaxed workplace comedy can both be excellent, but they solve very different viewing needs.

Check episode length

Episode length changes how easy a show is to start. A 25-minute comedy is a different commitment from a prestige drama with hour-long episodes.
